- Method 1- Number that comes before a particular number
- Method 2-The predecessor of a number is one less than the given number.
Example:
Find predecessor of 23,057
- According to method 1
A number before 23,057 is 23,056.
Therefore 23,056 is the predecessor of 23,057
- According to method 2
We can say a number less than 23,057
i.e. 23,057-1 =23,056;
23,056 is the predecessor of 23,057
Successor
- Method 1- Number that comes after a particular number
- Method 2-The successor of a number is one more than the given number.
Example:
Find successor of 23,057
- According to method 1
A number after 23,057 is 23,058.
Therefore 23,058 is the successor of 23,057
- According to method 2
We can say a number more than 23,057 i.e.
23,057+1 =23,058;
23,058 is the successor of 23,057
