Rules for using Capital Letters in a Sentence
1. A sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.
Example:My brother enjoys playing football.
The sun rises in the east.
He sells sea shells on the sea-shore.
My mother loves me a lot.
2. Names of persons begin with a capital letter.
Example:Ashok is a brave boy.
Ravi was present yesterday.
Neeta has beautiful long hair.
Dia is an honest girl.
3. Special names of towns, countries, places, rivers, mountains, etc., begin with a capital letter.
Example:Delhi is the capital of India.
Ganga is the holiest river in India.
Mount Everest is the world's highest mountain.
My sister lives in Jaipur.
4. The names of days of week and months of year , all begin with a capital letter.
Example:We go to the church every Sunday.
I didn't go to school last Monday.
