What are Curves ?
Anything which is not straight is called a curve.
Different Types of Curves are
1. Simple Curve and Non Simple Curve –
- A curve that does not cross itself is called Simple Curve.
- A curve that intersects atleast at any one point anywhere on the curve is called Non Simple Curve.
2. Open Curve and Closed Curve –
- Curve in which its endpoints do not meet is called an open curve.
- Curve that does not have an endpoint and is an enclosed figure is a closed curve
- A closed curve has 3 parts which are as follows
1. Interior of the curve
- It refers to the inside/inner area of the curve.
- The orange colour represents the interior portion of the triangle.
- Points X and Y lie in interior of the triangle.
2. The exterior of the curve.
- It refers to the outside / outer area of the curve.
- Point Z lie in exterior of the triangle.
3. The boundary of the curve
- It refers to the dividing line thus it divides the interior and exterior of the curve.
- The black line which is dividing the interior and exterior of the curve is the boundary.
- The interior and boundary of the curve together are called the curves “region”.
- Point T lie on the boundary of the Triangle.
